My hand soldered Bee & Crown Chatelaine Necklace. Pendant is brass with silver overlay and brass embellishments. Comes with 6 different charms (incl pendant). 28” long delicate brass cable chain. Pendant signed on reverse.

What is a Chatelaine? Chatelaine is French for "lady of the castle"...Chatelaines functioned as a practical everyday toolset for women going all the way back to the 16th century. Made of sterling silver, chatelaines were worn on belts or a clasp at the waist. Little sterling tools such as mini scissors, vials with straight pins, smelling salts and keys became objects of beauty grouped together to create a chatelaine. Chatelaines were the predecessor to the modern hand bag. Antique chatelaines can be purchased at auction starting around $400 and can exceed $4,000.
